Last year, one of my closet friends moved to Australia with her husband (hey Fulden !) and she basically introduced me to this hybrid drink, milkshake, desserty , orgasmic heaven called Freakshakes. The freakshakes basically were created Pâtissez, a bakery and café in Canberra, Australia. They are so popular that they usually have people queuing up to 2 hours (or more) just to have a taste.Take a look at their picture below
So my dear friend Fulden would basically bombard our whats app group with pictures of delicious desserts she had tried in Oz and boy were we jealous. Here are some example of some of the pictures she sent us. Ignore Fulden's husband's finger !
Finally, thanks to Molly Bakes, based in Dalston (Hackney), East London we can now all show up to the calorie party.
Originally called ‘Freakshow’ shakes, they are ice cream desserts masquerading as milkshakes, you have donuts, clumps of nutella , pies, brownies stuffed in a cute retro mason jar.
Me and my friend Liz decided to try out the freakshakes, after we went to the Crystal Maze. There were priced at £7 and we were skeptical of the price, however, it was worth every penny. It's basically more than a milkshake...its a whole dessert in a cup !
If your heading to Dalston for one of these bad boys, get there early as the cafe isn't the biggest and it gets very busy- they often have to turn people away.
Here are some of the photos from our visit
NB. They also sell a selection cupcakes, cakes and cookies as well as tasty toast options ? (don't know what to call it.)
